The Randal Foundation was established by Dr Nik and Moni Kotecha with a clear goal: to save and significantly improve the lives of 1 million people in the UK and around the world.
Working with inspirational partners, we fund and support interventions that prevent loss of life, create opportunity and deliver measurable, lasting change for those in greatest need.

Emergency UK
Life-saving surgical healthcare is being delivered in crisis settings, with more than 110,000 patients in Afghanistan, Sierra Leone and Uganda receiving vital treatment – including surgery for children and essential care for mothers.
The Centre for Social Justice - Economic Inactivity
With aims to support meaningful reform that helps more people overcome barriers to employment. The Randal Foundation are proud to support the Centre for Social Justice to tackle the UK’s economic inactivity crisis and reforming the welfare system. This partnership supports research, data analysis and engagement to develop practical, evidence-based policy recommendations through political and local engagement.
Community foundations
Local charities supporting vulnerable communities are being strengthened with unrestricted funding, enabling small organisations to continue delivering essential, life-changing support where it is needed most.
Through our partnerships, we supported 6 Community Foundations in year 1 which reached 60 grassroots organisations, in the following year we supported 10 Community Foundations, reaching 116 grass roots organisations.
Partnering with Community Foundations is essential to achieving the greatest nationwide impact, as grassroots charities are often difficult to reach through our grant call‑outs.
The Randal Foundation are passionate about continuing to scale up our Community Foundations partnerships to deliver greatest impact and outcomes in the UK.
Curve Theatre
Young people in disadvantaged communities are raising their aspirations, gaining confidence and improving their mental wellbeing, with support that helps them feel more confident, connected and able to express themselves – aiming to reach over 250 young people over three years.
Uganda Red Cross
Girls and women in vulnerable communities are gaining greater access to education, independence and improved health through access to affordable sanitary products, with up to 50,000 lives significantly improved each year. Alongside this, the project is creating sustainable employment for over 200 women, supporting long-term economic opportunity and helping to break cycles of poverty.
The King’s Trust Enterprise Programme
Young people facing disadvantage are building skills, confidence and pathways into employment through enterprise, with over 210 young people supported to start and grow their own UK businesses over three years.
