Grants

Prospective grantees are required to clearly demonstrate how lives are saved or significantly improved as part of the grant application process. Due diligence undertaken during the application assessment provides challenge to this grantee definition, and further challenge is applied at the point of Trustee consideration and decision making.

Integrity in our approach to attribution is essential, but this need not be strictly formulaic, administratively onerous, or restrictive. As a family Foundation in pursuit of core organisational goals, we recognise that it is important to ensure that there is a transparent and consistent process through which attribution is considered, calculated and recorded.

Reach and impact

Our Trustees are clear that achieving meaningful qualitative impact through our work is the primary goal.

Reach – geographically and in quantum – is important, but it is a secondary consideration. In simple terms, this is not ‘just about the numbers’ – it is very much about the difference we make and the lives we are able to save and significantly improve through our work.

Quantifying the difference we make and ensuring this is achieved with proportionate pace is an underpinning priority. We aim to make a remarkable difference for as many people as possible, through the delivery of our charitable objectives.
