Exodus Project

The Exodus Project is supported by the Randal Charitable Foundation

Exodus is committed to helping children and young people in disadvantaged communities.

The charity, based on the border of Wakefield and Barnsley in West Yorkshire, aims to divert children and young people away from engaging in destructive lifestyles.

They do this by working in partnership with families and others within the community. Support includes; running activity clubs, weekend camps, visiting children at home and collaborating with local organisations & schools.

In 2019 the Randal Charitable Foundation provided funding towards the charity’s activities. This included support for their mid-week activity clubs where 15 groups meet every week during school term time. In 2020 the Foundation delivered further support to fund food delivery activities for those suffering extreme hardship  in 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic.

To facilitate their work the charity has developed a unique model for volunteer development. Over half of their volunteer team are former service users, who have progressed from the children’s Kidz Klub groups to young person’s Rock Solid groups.

When they reach 14 years old they can become junior leaders (volunteers) in the younger age clubs. After that some progress to become adult leaders.
