Opinion : Randal Foundation’s number one objective is directly saving lives today

“Witnessing simple problems with sanitation, water, hunger or poverty in some developing countries really made me want to do something. So, our Randal Foundation’s number one objective is directly saving lives today.”

When I came to the UK as a child refugee fleeing a brutal dictatorship, I spoke no English. Building our family home in Leicester, education brought me a path out of poverty and far reaching opportunities. From that foundation I went on to build a global pharmaceuticals business — centred on and responding to the inequalities I witnessed growing up, and those which I could see persisting in many developing countries.

Today, my family and I are dedicated to making a meaningful difference through our Randal Charitable Foundation, helping some of the most vulnerable people in society — both here in the UK and around the world.

See below a  short video made in collaboration with colleagues from Citi Bank, on my journey and my Foundation’s mission to save lives every day.
