Education for the Children

Education for the Children is supported by the Randal Charitable Foundation

Since 2003 the Education For The Children Foundation (EFTC) has worked with young people and families within the community of Jocotenango, Guatemala, to access free quality education, nutritious food, healthcare and social services.

The charity’s mission is to strive for a future where every child can fulfil their potential, and they commit to staying with them, every step of the way, from kindergarten through to graduation from University.

Through education and empowerment the charity works with the students, families and communities, to support those in need and to break the cycle of poverty.

This vital support ensures many children can afford to stay in education instead of falling in with local gangs or entering the informal workforce.

Education for the Children delivers quality education for more than 450 school students and over 200 further education students.
In 2019 the Randal Charitable Foundation made a grant to cover the costs of the daily food expenses for the students, as well as to provide kitchen equipment.

A further grant was made in 2021 to fund school supplies and towards the running costs of the school in Guatemala,

The Foundation offered further support in 2020 when the school was closed because of the coronavirus pandemic, by providing meals for hundreds of students and their families, while the country was under lockdown.
