In the remote villages of Siem Reap province, Cambodia, many families face severe barriers to accessing basic necessities, resulting in high rates of preventable illness and malnutrition.
This strategic investment from the Randal Foundation focuses on three critical pillars:
Clean Water: Installing high-quality water filtration systems in schools and community hubs. This infrastructure is vital to eliminating waterborne diseases, which are a primary cause of child mortality and school absenteeism in the region.
Healthcare: The deployment of mobile medical services to provide primary care, essential vitamins, deworming treatments, and health screenings directly to disadvantaged communities, bypassing the geographical barriers that often prevent families from seeking medical attention.
Nutrition: The provision of daily, nutrient-dense meals to ensure children have the physical and cognitive energy required to succeed in their education.
Beyond immediate relief, the programme prioritizes local capacity building through intensive training in hygiene, disease prevention, and first aid. By empowering local staff and families with knowledge, the impact of the Randal Charitable Foundation’s support extends far beyond the duration of the grant. Our goal is clear: to significantly lower the risk of loss of life for the most vulnerable and to provide a long-term betterment of life chances for 2,000 individuals.
