The Randal Foundation are proud to support Survivors of Human Trafficking in Scotland (SOHTIS) to enable the SOHTIS anti-human trafficking team to provide 12 months of potentially life-saving prevention, recovery, and survivor support to women and children who are at risk or have been impacted by trafficking exploitation.
Human trafficking is a misunderstood and growing crime in Scotland. Its impact is life-threatening for individuals, families, and also negatively impacts communities and society at large. SOHTIS is an anti-trafficking charity in Scotland and works to recover adult and child victims of trafficking and provide long-term support in rebuilding their lives.
Their multi-disciplinary team, which includes people with lived experience of trafficking, is recognised nationally as the experts in these areas. They utilise their exceptional skills in working with diverse people, most of whom are suffering from complex PTSD.
Their work combines expert independent advocacy with our Empowerment Programme, which is delivered and measured using their co-produced 12 Essentials to Thrive Framework. The Framework developed with survivors addresses immediate safety issues, building resilience where there is a threat to life, and creates safe, strength-based opportunities for routes out of exploitation.
