Based in Leicestershire The Baca Charity’s mission is to support young forced migrants who arrive as unaccompanied asylum seekers, including those that have been trafficked.
They assist them with rebuilding their lives, integrating into a community and using their experiences positively. This is achieved by providing a safe and empowering environment and through the use of a holistic and personalised approach.
The charity’s focus is to increase personal safety, improve physical wellbeing, increase engagement with education, employment and training, improve physical wellbeing and increase social engagement.
This is delivered through safe and culturally appropriate supported accommodation, therapeutic support work and education and skills training, enabling the building of positive safe relationships through leisure and social engagements.
In 2020 the Randal Charitable Foundation supported the charity by giving grant funding to pay for a teacher to provide educational support to asylum seekers in Leicestershire.
This will equip the young people with opportunities to grow and develop into thriving adults through the investment of hope, support, guidance and challenge.
