The Randal Foundation is proud to announce our support for The Wren Project, enabling the organisation to expand its capacity and reach more individuals experiencing significant distress as a result of their autoimmune disease (AID).
Through this funding, individuals facing depression, loneliness, grief, and suicidal thoughts linked to their autoimmune diagnosis will gain access to personalised, one-to-one emotional support. The Wren Project offers a safe, confidential environment where individuals can speak openly and honestly about the impact of their condition on their lives.
As part of this expansion, specialist training will be provided to The Wren Project’s experienced volunteers, equipping them with the knowledge and confidence required to effectively support individuals experiencing higher levels of distress.
The Wren Project remains the only charity in the UK dedicated to providing emotional support to individuals with all types of autoimmune diseases. Its mission is to reduce the loneliness, grief, isolation, and intense distress often experienced following a life-altering diagnosis.
Their unique, person-centred listening service addresses the emotional and social effects of autoimmune disease, offering a non-judgemental, advice-free space where individuals feel heard, validated, and supported.
This vital support is provided free of charge and is available to any adult aged 18 or over with a diagnosed autoimmune disease. Listening sessions are delivered remotely by trained volunteers, ensuring accessibility to individuals across the UK.
