YourStance

We are proud to support YourStance. With this  support, their life-saving skills training will be accessible to the young people who need it most. Focused on the four boroughs where the incidence of violence affecting young people is highest, YourStance is committed to equipping and empowering young people with practical, straightforward skills that can make the difference between life and death.

YourStance is a Community Interest Company run by healthcare  professionals, who were inspired  after seeing multiple young people come in injured to A and E with little to no first aid, knowing that simple skills at the time of injury can make all the difference.

Through their program, young people gain hands-on experience in life saving skills, including chest compressions, basic life support, and bleed control. These skills are not only practical but crucial, giving participants the confidence to act effectively. By providing this training, they aim to create a generation of young people who are prepared to respond to emergencies, potentially saving lives in their communities.

The support from the Randal Foundation will fund a facilitator who is an experienced healthcare professional. They will lead their ‘Zero Responder’  sessions and provide expert guidance and support the young people to think of real life scenarios and how it will impact them and their community. Furthermore, the funding will support their senior leadership team, enabling them to focus on program development, quality assurance, and the strategic expansion of life-saving training across the targeted boroughs.

This partnership ensures that their training is both accessible and sustainable, reaching the young people who are most at risk while maintaining the highest standards of teaching. By combining expert instruction with practical, real-world skills and scenarios, YourStance helps young people develop confidence, resilience, and the ability to act decisively in life-threatening situations.

Quote From YourStance Trustees

This grant represents exactly the kind of strategic, upstream investment that transforms lives and systems. By supporting YourStance, The Randal Foundation recognises that violence prevention isn’t just about treating injuries in A&E—it’s about creating teachable moments before young people reach crisis point.

What excites me most is how this funding enables NHS clinicians to step beyond hospital walls and into the heart of communities, meeting young people exactly where they are. These aren’t abstract interventions delivered by outsiders; they’re credible, trauma-informed conversations led by the very professionals who see the devastating consequences of violence firsthand.

This work delivers impact in both directions: young people gain the reflective space to make different choices, whilst clinicians develop the skills and confidence to become prevention practitioners—not just treating harm, but actively stopping it from happening. That’s the kind of scalable, systemic change our health service desperately needs.

Randal Foundation’s support demonstrates genuine understanding that sustainable violence reduction requires investment in infrastructure, not just programmes. They’re helping us build something that can fundamentally shift how the NHS approaches prevention, creating a model that other organisations can learn from and adapt. That’s strategic philanthropy at its best.”
