Congratulations to our Chair of Trustees for  Innovation Awards Honour

Huge congratulations to our Chair of Trustees, Dr Nik Kotecha OBE DL, who won the Outstanding Contribution Award at the LeicestershireLive Innovation Awards. 

This is a very special accolade, which recognises an individual who has achieved the rare distinction of inspiring and delivering innovation repeatedly over the course of their career.

One such example was being a founding member of these awards, as a way to celebrate the very best technology, services, digital advances, and creative thinking that Leicester and Leicestershire has to offer. Another is the founding of our very own Randal Charitable Foundation with the aspiration to directly save over 1 million lives in the UK and globally. 

Speaking about the award win, Dr Nik, said: "Truly humbled to receive the Outstanding Contribution Award. This recognition is dedicated to every colleague, former colleague, friends, and family, who have supported our journey. Without your support this would not have been possible.  

"Thank you also to the LeicestershireLive Team for hosting the awards, and for all those who have been involved and made the Leicestershire Innovation Festival 2023 the most successful to date."

Alongside Dr Nik's award win; businesses and entrepreneurs were awarded in 11 other categories for using innovation to reach new levels of  productivity, growth and business excellence.

LeicestershireLive and Leicester Mercury editor, Adam Moss, said: “It never ceases to amaze me at the level of creativity and ingenuity that we have right here in Leicestershire.

“There were so many brilliant entries in so many different sectors that it was incredibly hard to decide our overall winners. So those who didn't win really should not be disappointed – you needed to be brilliant to even make the shortlist.

“And our winners who have beaten very tough competition should be really proud of their achievement and I'd like to congratulate them all.”
